Amazing and wonderful prophetic tradition that demonstrates the beauty, moderation and humanity of Islam

Ibn 'Umar reported that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, who is the most beloved person to Allah? And what is the most beloved deed to Allah?

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him replied: "most beloved person to Allah is the most beneficial one to the people, and the most lovable deed to Allah is the happiness that you create for a Muslim, or the distress that you relieve from him, or the debt that you settled on his behalf, or the hunger that you eliminate for him.”  Prophet continues saying:  "Walking with my brother in need to render him assistance is more pleasant to me than sitting down for a whole month in my mosque for the purpose of I’tikaaf.

Whoever ceases his anger, Allah will conceal his awrah (secret), and whoever controls/stops his anger; which if he wishes he could enforce, Allah will fill his heart with the hope in the day of resurrection.  And whoever walks with his brother in need, until the need is ready/accomplished, Allah will make his foot steady on the day that the feet will be shaky." (Hadith Hasan: al-Silisilah al-Sahihah, Hadith 906).
