The Trader and the Monkey

Once upon a time, there was a trader in a village. He was selling different types of drinks, the drinks were made from grapes, orange and pineapples. This man used to move from one village to another, one street to another and one area to the other selling his drinks to the people.

However, unknowingly to the people, this man used to mix his drinks with lots of water in order to gain more profit, because the more the drink the more the profit. This man thought that it was the best way to gain more profit. But alas! This was a sign of weak faith and hastiness in gathering of unlawful wealth. This act according to the Holy Quran, equates nothing compared to the punishment of Allah and his anger.

One day, after the man has sold his fake drinks to the people in a particular village, he gathered all his money and put them in his wallet. He was very happy for gaining a lot of profit. He boarded a ship returning to his village. On his way back home, he kept on thinking of different ways to gather more wealth. While his monkey was sitting down beside him jumping here and there.

Suddenly, the monkey grabbed the wallet full of money from the trader, and jumped to a tree near the river bank. The man was very angry at his monkey. He quickly stood up calling the monkey to give him back his wallet. The monkey, on the other hand, opened the wallet, took one of the coins and threw it in the water. Then, dipped his hand in the wallet again, and threw another coin to the man.

The man said angrily, OH YOU MONKEY! I beg you in the name of Allah, get down!

When the man noticed that the monkey refused to get down,he called on the monkey again and he said: oh you monkey, throw the wallet to me and don't make me lose my money!

From the look of a thing, it seems the monkey didn't understand what the man was saying as it opened all of the wallet and looked into it and started throwing it one after the other. It threw some to the man and some other into the river.

That was how the money threw all the money, it did not stop until it had successfully divided the money into two equal parts.

He threw half of it to the trader, and half of it to the river. Hence, the trader took the share of the money for his drink and the river took its share for its water the man had used to mix the drinks.

Is the money not equally distributed, the trader has took his share of sadness and pain in this world and he will also take his reward in the hereafter from his creator if he does not fear Allah and repent from his sin.
